Hey there, blimpy boy, flying through the sky so fancy free.
Every now and again, it’s nice to have a story that reminds us we are Canadian.
A 21-metre Budweiser blimp in shape of hockey goal light broke its tether Saturday at a ball hockey tournament and has been sailing over the skies of New Brunswick.
The blimp is being tracked by Transport Canada’s Civil Aviation Daily Occurrence Reporting System (CADOR) as well as, you know, regular people with eyes. It was maintaining a height of 1,200 to 1,500 meters and is expected to touch down somewhere in Sussex, N.B. sometime soon.
A warning was issued to the Moncton airport, because we’re responsible like that. The report likely started with “uhhh, so…” but the blimp is not expected to cause any issues.
